Item 14 – Dog Love on the Farm

For this southern California girl, life in Oregon proved arduous and humbling, character building and joyous. Prior to our move, my reference to the wilderness came from books and movies. “Ooo look! The trees are flocked with snow,” I was overheard to say that first winter on the mountain.
 
12-dogs-on-lawn_500Here I chat with five of our six Border Collies: Megan, Moss, Moon, Muse and Mulph. Tragically the one pup that didn’t sport an M moniker was run over by a UPS truck, so after that, the rule of M prevailed. In this family, dogs without M names were considered jinxed. Many more animals followed: horses, sheep, goats, angora rabbits, llamas, cows, cats and more dogs, dogs, dogs.
